Dan Lund and John Calder were two of the founding members of the popular Northern Minnesota band Podipto, and they’ve now reunited to form a new band called Driftless, and to record a new album of bright and memorable songs. The twelve instrumental rock tunes featured on “Vistas” are available on Bandcamp as a digital download or CD.

Podipto was well-known throughout the Midwest for their original music, which blended rock, blues, and country, and for their heartfelt live shows and lively personalities. In the early 1970’s they performed with acts such as Elton John, James Taylor, The Carpenters, Kenny Rogers, The Guess Who, Poco, John Sebastian and many others.

“Vistas” showcases Dan Lund’s versatility and signature guitar creativity. His music career includes standout Minnesota bands - Becky Riemer and the Sky Blue Water Boys, Minnesota Flats, Sweetwater, Thunder Road, and Tall Corn, as well as many first-call recording sessions. Dan has two CDs in his own name, “Wood & Steel” and “After All This Time”.

Produced by John Calder, who played drums, baritone lap steel, and programmed and mixed the tracks, “Vistas” reflects his experience as a recording engineer (Neil Diamond, The Band, Joe Cocker), producer, and composer/sound designer (Loud Neighbors Sound) for multiple commercial, exhibit, and video music scores. John has three CDs as johncalder - “Eleven Scenes”, “Thirteen Scenes”, and “Twelve Scenes”, available on Bandcamp.
